- Pre-surgical Policy - Download our Hospitalization Form
- Dogs/cats should have no food/treats after 7:30pm the night before, water is fine until drop-off time. Ferrets should not have food 4 hours prior to surgery and be sure to bring food with you to the clinic. Drop-off time is 7:30am on the day of surgery. If a pet is on medication, please ask if they should have their medication the day of surgery. If possible, please download a surgery check-in form and read it thoroughly, signing where indicated.
- Dogs must have a valid DHLP-Parvo vaccine and a rabies vaccine while they are in the hospital.
- Cats must have a valid FVRCP and rabies vaccine while they are in the hospital.
- Pets under one year of age are not required to have blood work, however an Felv/FIV test is recommended for kittens.
- Pets one year to seven years of age are required to have a mini-profile (ALT, BUN, glucose and hematocrit).
- Pets eight years of age and over are required to have a geriatric profile (ALT, Alk Phos, BUN, creatinine, glucose, total protein, and hematocrit).
- An optional 12 test profile (for all ages) includes: BUN (kidney), Creatinine (kidney), Glucose (blood sugar), ALT (liver), Alk Phos (liver), Total Protein (liver), Albumin (liver), Globulin (liver), Amylase (pancreas), Cholesterol (liver, thyroid), Total Bilirubin (liver), CBC (red and white blood count), electrolytes (kidneys, adrenal glands).
